Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Books I Want to Reread

I don’t really want to brag, but today is a pretty special day – my birthday! I was thinking about not doing a Top Ten Tuesday post today and doing a specifically-birthday-themed post, but I didn’t really know what to do with that since I don’t really have the money to do a giveaway and that tends to be a popular birthday tradition. Instead, I decided to make this topic slightly birthday-themed: since I love rereading books all the time and thus would have an endless number of books to put on this list, I decided to focus on book I’d love to reread and would if someone got them for me for my birthday! Too bad my parents don’t read my blog…

 

1. Stealing Parker (Miranda Kenneally)

This is my favorite book of the whole Hundred Oaks series, although I’m not sure what it is about it that I find so much more entertaining and memorable than the other books. Yes, I like the protagonist, love interest, family drama, and featured sport all better than of the others, but I honestly don’t know why I loved it so much. Oh well, the point is that I love it and it makes me understand why everyone seems to be such a Miranda Kenneally fangirl!

2. Fixing Delilah (Sarah Ockler)

Sarah Ockler is another author that most of the blogging world loves but I’m less sure of – one of her earlier books is one of the reasons why I haven’t just given up on her completely. This book has family drama and a romance with a former boy next door/childhood friend, which are two things I like in my books a lot.

 

3. Spiderwick Chronicles (Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black)

I loved this series back when I was younger and haven’t read it in years now, though I’ve rewatched the relatively good movie adaptation (although I wish they didn’t cram it all into one movie – it’s five books!). It’s a middle grade series, but in the same vein as Harry Potter and Percy Jackson, so I wouldn’t feel embarrassed rereading this entertaining and interesting series as a college student.

4. Antigoddess (Kendare Blake)

Mythology! That’s practically all I need to be sold on this book, but an entertaining story certainly helps. I’ve been itching to reread this book for a while now, but I’m trying to wait until I can get my hands on the second book and can read them together.

 

5. The Book of Broken Hearts (Sarah Ockler)

It’s surprising that I have two books on here from an author I really don’t think I like that much, but this book really left a mark on me, and that has much to do with the personal review I wrote for it, but I’d also like to reread the actual book to revisit the sadness and wonderful family dynamics at the heart of this story.

6. Out of the Easy (Ruta Sepetys)

I’m starting to forget everything that happens in this book, so obviously I need to reread it soon! It’s one of the few strictly-historical books that I really like, so I need to own it simply so that I can say that I have a few non-paranormal-history books.

 

7. Audrey, Wait! (Robin Benway)

This is an odd choice for me because I wasn’t much of a fan of this book. I see so much praise for this book all the time, though, and I kind of want to reread it and see if I might like it better a second time around. I wasn’t a huge fan of the protagonist, but my feelings can always change!

8. In Honor (Jessi Kirby)

I did like this book, luckily, so I’m not so conflicted about rereading it. I remember it being sad, of course (it’s about a girl dealing with the aftermath of her brother’s death as a soldier), but I also remember being intrigued by the romance and the road trip story. It’s a short story, so that helps with the emotional pain that you put yourself through by reading it in the first place.

 

9. Golden (Jessi Kirby)

And another Jessi Kirby book! This is her third book and definitely her best so far. I really connected with the protagonist and was really interested in the story, and even though I know how it all ends now, I would love to relive the book all over again.

10. Amy and Roger’s Epic Detour (Morgan Matson)

I didn’t love this book as much as Morgan Matson’s latest, Since You’ve Been Gone, but I certainly  wouldn’t mind rereading it. It’s full of interesting extra tid-bits like restaurant receipts and playlists and has a fun road trip to follow.
